In the valley of Polnya, where life unfolds beneath the menacing shadow of the corrupted Wood, Agnieszka lives a simple life, deeply connected to her home, river, and village. As the next choosing approaches, Agnieszka and her village are certain the Dragon will select Kasia, her beautiful, brave, and graceful best friend – everything Agnieszka believes herself not to be. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when the Dragon arrives, and his gaze falls not upon Kasia, but upon the seemingly ordinary Agnieszka.
