Synopsis

Miryem, the resourceful daughter and granddaughter of moneylenders, finds her family on the brink of poverty due to her father's inability to collect debts. Taking matters into her own hands, Miryem hardens her heart and transforms their meager silver into what appears to be gold through shrewd and relentless debt collection, earning her a dangerous reputation. Her ill-advised boast that she can turn silver into gold catches the attention of the King of the Staryk, grim, ice-hearted fey creatures from a parallel, frozen world. Dragged into their icy domain, Miryem is forced to fulfill an impossible challenge: truly spin silver into gold. Her fate becomes intertwined with that of the Staryk king and two other women—Irina, a duke's daughter whose life is upended by a magical pact, and Wanda, a peasant girl escaping a brutal father who becomes Miryem's steadfast ally. Together, they must navigate treacherous fey politics, ancient curses, and uncover a secret that threatens to consume both the human and Staryk kingdoms.
