Synopsis

In the gripping fourth installment of Daniel Silva's acclaimed series, art restorer and Mossad agent Gabriel Allon is thrust into a perilous international conspiracy following the brutal assassination of a controversial Munich writer. The victim, a former Catholic priest, was on the verge of publishing a revelatory book about the wartime Pope Pius XII and the Vatican's historical dealings with Nazi Germany. Gabriel's investigation quickly intertwines with Father Pietro, a devout Vatican priest who shared the murdered writer's suspicions and fears. As Gabriel delves deeper, he unearths a clandestine organization, the 'Sword of Rome,' dedicated to preserving the Church's historical narrative at any cost. Their dangerous journey spans from the shadowy corridors of the Vatican to the remnants of Nazi-era secrets, forcing Gabriel to confront a powerful cabal intent on burying the truth, threatening not only the legacy of the Church but also the lives of countless innocents.
