Synopsis

Years after the traumatic events of "The Poet," FBI agent Rachel Walling receives the chilling news she's always feared: the notorious serial killer has resurfaced. The Poet, whose monstrous crimes were once marked by his twisted verses, has returned, and Rachel finds herself inescapably drawn back into his horrifying orbit. Meanwhile, retired LAPD detective Harry Bosch is pulled into a separate, yet tragically connected, investigation. The seemingly natural death of an old friend, a former colleague from the Poet task force, raises Bosch's suspicions, compelling him to dig deeper into a past he thought was buried. Their paths converge in the desolate Nevada desert, where federal agents are unearthing new horrors. Bosch and Walling, both intimately familiar with the Poet's depravity, find themselves reluctantly allied against a bureaucratic FBI, embarking on a relentless and dangerous pursuit. As they delve into the dark heart of the case, they confront not only a cunning and sadistic killer but also the personal demons and institutional obstacles that threaten to derail their quest for justice. "The Narrows" plunges readers into a labyrinthine chase, where the boundaries of good and evil blur, leading Bosch and Walling into a darkness all its own.
