Synopsis

Fat Charlie Nancy, a seemingly ordinary South London man, leads a rather unremarkable life until a seismic event shakes his world: his estranged father drops dead during karaoke. What Charlie soon discovers radically redefines his understanding of reality. His father, whom he knew as a somewhat embarrassing and boisterous figure, was in fact Anansi, the West African trickster god, master of mischief and social disorder. Adding to the shock, Charlie learns he has a brother he never knew existed, Spider. When Spider arrives on his doorstep, charismatic and dangerously charming, he throws Charlie’s life into utter disarray. What begins as a quest to understand his bizarre family legacy rapidly escalates into a fantastical journey. Fat Charlie finds himself entangled in a divine rivalry and a series of increasingly perilous situations, forcing him to navigate a world where gods walk among mortals, from the streets of London to the sun-drenched Caribbean and the very foundations of creation itself. It’s a hilarious, heartwarming, and occasionally terrifying tale of family, identity, and the power of stories.
