Ship Breaker

In a future shaped by climate change and corporate greed, the Gulf Coast of America is a treacherous wasteland where fortunes are salvaged from the wreckage of old oil tankers. Nailer, a lean and desperate teenage 'light crew' worker, scrapes by, risking his life daily to strip valuable copper wiring from the hulks just to meet his quota and survive. His world is harsh, violent, and devoid of hope for a better future. But when a massive hurricane batters the coast, Nailer stumbles upon a rare and exquisite clipper ship, beached and broken, containing a single, highborn survivor – a beautiful girl named Nita. This discovery forces him to confront a monumental choice: strip the valuable ship for quick profit, or save the privileged girl who could offer a glimpse into a world beyond his grim reality, potentially leading him to an escape from his cycle of poverty and danger.
