The Scar

Bellis Coldwine, a brilliant linguist, flees the corrupt city-state of New Crobuzon aboard a vast seafaring vessel, seeking refuge from a past linked to a renegade scientist. The surviving passengers are forcibly brought to Armada, a mythical, self-contained city crafted from countless pirated ships. Ruled by the enigmatic 'Lovers', Armada is a place where humans, Remades, Cactae, and Cray coexist in a precarious equality, yet no one is permitted to leave. Trapped and embittered, Bellis must navigate this bizarre floating metropolis, feigning conformity while covertly investigating Armada's true intentions.
