Synopsis

Gavin Guile, the immensely powerful and cunning Prism, finds his world unraveling in "The Blinding Knife," the second installment of Brent Weeks's Lightbringer series. Believing he had five years left of life, Gavin is shocked to discover his time is drastically cut short to less than a year. Juggling fifty thousand refugees, the unwelcome presence of a newly discovered bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may expose his most guarded secret, Gavin is besieged by problems. As his control falters, the very fabric of the world's magic begins to destabilize, threatening to plunge the Seven Satrapies into chaos. Ancient gods are reawakening, bringing with them an unstoppable army of colour wights. Gavin's only hope for salvation, and for the world, may lie with the brother he imprisoned and stole from sixteen years ago—a desperate alliance that could either save them all or lead to ultimate destruction.
