Synopsis

In the climactic third novel of Brent Weeks' Night Angel series, "Beyond the Shadows" plunges Cenaria and Khalidor into a maelstrom of war and political upheaval. With a new queen usurping the throne and leading Cenaria towards disaster, the country is fractured and without hope. Kylar Stern, grappling with the bitter cost of his newfound immortality, plots to restore his closest friend, Logan, to kingship, a path fraught with assassination and moral compromise. Meanwhile, in the north, the Godking's demise has ignited a brutal civil war in Khalidor, prompting a desperate faction to attempt the resurrection of the goddess Khali herself. This reckless act unleashes volatile powers, setting the stage for a continent-spanning conflict where seven armies converge, poised to either save or utterly destroy. Kylar finds himself facing an impossible task: to assassinate a goddess. His success could doom the south, yet failure guarantees the destruction of everything he holds dear, forcing him to confront the ultimate sacrifice to protect those he loves, and even his enemies.
