Synopsis

Harry Bosch, recently transferred to the LAPD's elite Homicide Special squad, is thrust into a high-stakes investigation that quickly spirals into a matter of national security. Called to the Hollywood Overlook, he discovers the meticulously staged murder of Dr. Stanley Kent, a physicist. What initially appears to be a robbery gone wrong soon takes a chilling turn when Bosch uncovers that Kent was involved in a top-secret project, and a lethal quantity of radioactive cesium is now missing. The case instantly draws the attention of the FBI, including the determined Agent Rachel Walling, who insists on federal jurisdiction. However, Bosch's ingrained suspicion of authority and his unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth lead him to question the FBI's agenda. As he races against time, navigating a complex web of international intrigue, potential domestic terrorism, and political maneuvering, Bosch unearths a conspiracy far more dangerous than anyone imagined. "The Overlook" sees Bosch fighting not only for justice for the victim but also to prevent a catastrophic attack on American soil.
