In the heart of a small Texas town, Ella Barron meticulously manages her boarding house, a bastion of order amid the daily challenges of raising her ten-year-old son, Solly. Solly, a sweet but nonverbal child whose 'busy' nature draws unsolicited opinions, consumes much of Ella's energy, leaving little room for anything else.
