Synopsis

Following the daring, yet ultimately failed, attempt to assassinate Winston Churchill, the formidable German paratrooper commander, Major Kurt Steiner, finds himself a high-value prisoner within the impenetrable walls of the Tower of London. Unbeknownst to the British, Steiner's capture becomes a strategic asset for a desperate Heinrich Himmler, who conceives an audacious, seemingly impossible mission: to extract Steiner from British custody and repatriate him to Germany. For this perilous task, Himmler turns to the legendary Irish patriot and ruthless operative, Liam Devlin. Devlin, a man of wit, charm, and deadly skill, is tasked with assembling a small, elite team to penetrate the heart of British security, navigate the treacherous landscape of wartime England, and execute a rescue operation that could shift the balance of power. As Devlin and his team plan their audacious move, they must contend with relentless British intelligence, the looming threat of discovery, and the moral complexities of their mission. "The Eagle Has Flown" plunges readers into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, where courage, cunning, and betrayal define the battle for one man's freedom, and potentially, the fate of the war.
