Synopsis

Jack Reacher, the nomadic former military policeman, plans a seemingly innocuous one-day stopover in the remote prairie town of Mother's Rest, intrigued by its peculiar name. He anticipates a tranquil scene: a pioneer tombstone amidst expansive wheat fields. However, his brief pause quickly spirals into a profound investigation when he encounters Michelle Chang, an ex-FBI agent desperately searching for her missing colleague. Their paths intertwine amidst a backdrop of unsettling silence from the watchful locals and a cryptic note hinting at "two hundred deaths." What begins as an aimless detour for Reacher rapidly transforms into an open-ended quest, drawing him into a sinister underworld. As Reacher and Chang peel back the layers of the town's dark secrets, they uncover a conspiracy rooted in unimaginable human depravity, compelling Reacher to unleash his brutal brand of justice against an evil far more pervasive than he could have ever anticipated.
