Synopsis

In 2060 Oxford, a dedicated team of time-traveling historians embarks on a series of observational missions to various critical junctures of World War II. Among them, three scholars – Michael Davies, Merope Ward, and Polly Churchill – prepare to witness the unfolding chaos, from the evacuation of Dunkirk to the harrowing London Blitz, believing their advanced technology offers a safe, detached vantage point. Their mission is to meticulously record the daily lives and experiences of those caught in the historical maelstrom. However, a catastrophic malfunction in their time-travel technology leaves them stranded, cut off from their own era and the protective safeguards of the future. As the war intensifies around them, these objective observers are forced into unexpected roles, their participation threatening to alter the very history they were sworn to merely witness. 'Blackout' is a masterfully crafted narrative that blends intricate time-travel mechanics with the gritty, human realities of one of history's most defining and dangerous periods.
