Synopsis

In the crumbling, exploitative Erasmus System, where the ruling Four Families maintain a stranglehold of slavery and corruption, a silent war is brewing. The United World Government from Earth has identified Erasmus as a dangerous 'hot spot,' believing it secretly plans to launch a devastating attack on the solar system. Thrust back into active duty, ex-Field Commander Terese Drajeske, now a mother of three, is dispatched to Erasmus under the guise of investigating the seemingly impossible murder of her immortal colleague and friend, Bianca Fayette. What begins as a straightforward inquiry quickly unravels into a labyrinth of profound deceptions, shattering lives, and a pervasive societal decay. Terese finds herself plunged into a vortex where a dreadful secret threatens to cast all of humanity into chaos. With her family and sanity hanging by a thread, Terese must confront a conspiracy so vast and insidious that preventing war may demand the ultimate sacrifice.
