Synopsis

Young Gwenda Reed arrives in England from New Zealand, ready to settle down with her new husband, Giles. They purchase a charming old house, but as Gwenda oversees renovations, an unsettling sense of familiarity creeps over her. She recognizes details she couldn't possibly know: a specific wallpaper pattern, a hidden door, the layout of a staircase. These fragmented memories culminate in a terrifying vision: a young woman being strangled, and the chilling words, 'She's dead.' Convinced she witnessed a murder as a child, Gwenda confides in the astute Miss Marple, whom she meets by chance. Together, they embark on a perilous journey into the past, attempting to piece together the truth behind Gwenda's repressed memories. Their investigation leads them to the mysterious disappearance of Helen Kennedy, Giles's father's first wife, decades earlier. As they disturb long-buried secrets, Gwenda and Giles find themselves in increasing danger, facing a ruthless killer determined to keep the 'sleeping murder' undisturbed.
