Synopsis

As the Northern Kingdoms plunge deeper into a brutal war against the Nilfgaardian Empire, Ciri, the Child of Prophecy, finds herself utterly alone and hunted by powerful forces from all sides. Having vanished after the events of Thanned, she sheds her royal past and embraces a life on the fringes as a member of a desperate bandit gang known as the Rats, experiencing an unprecedented, albeit harsh, freedom. Meanwhile, Geralt of Rivia, determined to find and protect her, assembles an unlikely fellowship including the bard Dandelion, the archer Milva, the higher vampire Regis, and his former foe Cahir. Their journey is fraught with peril as they navigate war-torn lands, pursued by ruthless mercenaries and political factions who all seek to control Ciri's destiny. The net around Ciri tightens, forcing her to confront her past, her growing powers, and the enigmatic 'Tower of Swallows' that beckons as her only sanctuary.
