Synopsis

In Robert Crais's 'Indigo Slam,' the seemingly idyllic life of Los Angeles private investigator Elvis Cole is shattered when a desperate fifteen-year-old girl, accompanied by her two younger siblings, walks into his office. They're seeking their father, a man who vanished three years prior after their family barely escaped a hail of bullets in Seattle. What begins as a missing persons case quickly unravels into a complex and dangerous web of secrets, drawing Elvis into the cold aftermath of a violent past. As Cole digs deeper, he unearths a sordid history involving high-stakes crimes, illicit drug operations, and ruthless figures from the criminal underworld. He soon finds himself not only battling hardened mobsters and a contingent of very angry federal agents but also confronting a storm of desperation and conspiracy that threatens to engulf the three children whose only 'crime' was surviving that fateful night. Elvis, aided by his enigmatic partner Joe Pike, must navigate treacherous ground to protect the innocent and expose the truth, even if it means putting his own life on the line.
