The Watcher in the Shadows

In the summer of 1937, fourteen-year-old Irene Sauvelle finds her life irrevocably changed when her family relocates to the picturesque yet mysterious Cape House on the rugged coast of Normandy. The breathtaking cliffs and expansive harbors quickly capture her imagination, but it's the enigmatic local boy, Ishmael, who truly captures her heart. Their burgeoning love story, however, soon becomes entangled with a deepening dread that permeates the seaside community. A reclusive toymaker, nestled within a sprawling mansion filled with an unnerving array of mechanical creations and the haunting specters of his past, appears to be at the center of the unfolding darkness. Strange lights pierce through the coastal fog, emanating from a desolate island, while Irene's younger brother is plagued by unsettling dreams of a malevolent creature lurking in the ancient woods. The idyllic summer shatters when a local girl is found brutally murdered, her body ravaged by what appears to be a monstrous, inhuman force. As fear grips Cape House, Irene and Ishmael are forced to confront the terrifying possibility that a demonic entity has been unleashed. They must unearth the truth behind the sinister occurrences before their terrifying summer claims another victim.
