Synopsis

Trapped in a sadistic animal testing facility in England, two dogs—Rowf, a large mongrel, and Snitter, a fox terrier scarred by experimental brain surgery—make a desperate escape. Disoriented and traumatized, they flee into the sprawling English countryside, befriending an astute fox who teaches them the harsh realities of wilderness survival. Their newfound freedom, however, is short-lived. Whispers and rumors, fueled by fear and misinformation, begin to spread that the escaped dogs might be carrying a deadly biological plague from the laboratory. This fear ignites a relentless, full-scale hunt, involving local farmers, politicians, scientists, and even the military, all determined to track down and eliminate the 'plague dogs.' The novel unfolds as a gripping and poignant chase, challenging human ethics, exploring themes of prejudice and cruelty, and highlighting the profound bond between animals as they desperately seek a safe haven from an increasingly hostile world.

Critical Reception
