Dragonshadow

Synopsis

In Barbara Hambly's 'Dragonshadow', the acclaimed Dragonsbane, Lord John Aversin, and his mageborn wife, Jenny Waynest, face a horror far greater than any dragon they've previously vanquished. Their twelve-year-old mageborn son, Ian, has been abducted by insidious demonspawn – entities from a dark dimension that gorge on magic and souls, leaving their victims empty husks. Desperate, John seeks the aid of the ancient and formidable dragon, Morkeleb the Black. However, the demons are not alone; they command a vast human army poised to ignite a civil war across the Realm. As the world teeters on the brink, Morkeleb is forced to make unimaginable sacrifices, Jenny confronts deeply held beliefs about her magic and her world, and John embarks on a perilous, morally ambiguous quest: to find even more powerful demons, hoping they can be turned against their own kind to save his son and their world. It is a tale of desperate measures, profound loss, and the harrowing choices made when confronted by ultimate evil.
