Synopsis

In the tense geopolitical landscape of 1982, during the height of the Cold War, CIA analyst Jack Ryan finds himself in London, far from the front lines of clandestine warfare. However, his quiet assignment is shattered when a disillusioned KGB communications officer, codenamed 'PICNIC' (Oleg Gordievsky), makes a perilous defection attempt to British intelligence. PICNIC brings with him a chilling piece of intelligence: the Soviet Union's leadership is plotting the assassination of Pope John Paul II. This audacious act, orchestrated by hardline elements within the Kremlin, is intended to destabilize Poland and crush the burgeoning Solidarity movement, which threatens Soviet dominance in Eastern Europe. Ryan, along with his British counterparts, is plunged into a desperate race against time, navigating the labyrinthine world of international espionage, political intrigue, and moral compromise to prevent a global catastrophe. 'Red Rabbit' offers a compelling glimpse into the high-stakes chess game played between superpowers, where a single bullet could ignite a worldwide conflagration.
