Synopsis

Lillian and Madison, former inseparable friends from an elite boarding school, find their lives intertwined once more under extraordinary circumstances. Lillian, living a dead-end existence, receives an unexpected plea for help from Madison. Madison's twin stepchildren are moving in, and she needs a caretaker for them. The catch? These children spontaneously combust when agitated, igniting into a startling, beautiful blaze. Initially skeptical, Lillian accepts the unusual position, seeing it as an escape from her own disappointing life. Over a demanding, humid summer, Lillian, the twins, and their unique condition navigate a complex family dynamic, including Madison's buttoned-up politician husband. Lillian, surprised by her own ingenuity and a fierce, protective love, begins to realize she needs these peculiar children as much as they need her, forging an urgent and profound bond that offers a surprising chance at the amazing life she'd always yearned for.
