Synopsis

In the cataclysmic conclusion to The Poppy War trilogy, Fang Runin, betrayed and left for dead after her brutal civil war against the Empress Su Daji, finds herself at the precipice of an impossible choice. Returning to her war-torn southern homeland, Rin harnesses the fervent devotion of the common people, who revere her as a goddess of salvation, to build a formidable Southern Army. With the Dragon Republic and colonizing Hesperians as her enemies, Rin prepares for a final, desperate war to defend the shamanic arts and liberate Nikan. However, the intoxicating voice of the Phoenix God within her grows ever stronger, tempting her to unleash apocalyptic destruction on a world that has only brought her pain. As her power swells, Rin must confront the ultimate question: will she yield to the vengeful fire of her divine mentor, or find a way to forge a new path amidst the ashes of her shattered nation?
