Synopsis

One year after the disappearance of all adults, Michael Grant's 'Fear' plunges readers back into the nightmarish reality of the FAYZ, where the children of Perdido Beach continue their desperate struggle for survival. Beyond the immediate threats of hunger, deceit, and plague, a new and more insidious enemy emerges: the Darkness. This malevolent force not only threatens to consume their dome-world, plunging it into literal blackness, but also amplifies their deepest fears, tearing at the fragile bonds holding their society together. As the FAYZ descends into chaos and terror, children are forced to confront not only external horrors but also the monstrous impulses within themselves and their peers. Amidst the psychological and physical torment, a primal will to survive and protect loved ones persists, yet the cruelest intentions surface, pushing the inhabitants to their absolute limits. The question remains: can they conquer their own fears before all hope is extinguished?

Critical Reception

"Praised for its excellent storytelling and multidimensional characters that continue to develop in unexpected ways, 'Fear' significantly elevates the stakes within the 'Gone' series, delivering mighty, eye-popping moments."
