Synopsis

Stephen King's seminal debut, "Carrie," plunges readers into the tormented life of Carrie White, an outcast teen living under the thumb of her fanatically religious mother. At school, she's the constant target of cruel bullies, making her existence a relentless cycle of humiliation and abuse. Unknown to most, Carrie harbors a terrifying secret: a powerful gift of telekinesis that she's only just beginning to understand and control. After a particularly traumatic incident, a rare act of kindness offers Carrie a glimmer of hope for normalcy, only for it to be brutally shattered by a horrific prank orchestrated by her classmates. This ultimate betrayal ignites a dormant rage within Carrie, transforming her hidden power into an unstoppable force of destruction. What begins as a desperate longing for acceptance culminates in a cataclysmic act of revenge, unleashing a fiery apocalypse upon her tormentors and forever scarring the town that ostracized her.
