Synopsis

Maurice Leblanc's "The Crystal Stopper" plunges Arsène Lupin, the gentleman-thief, into one of his most intricate and perilous adventures. The story ignites with a botched burglary at the Villa Marie-Thérèse, where Lupin's accomplices, Gilbert and Vaucheray, are caught in a deadly confrontation with the valet, Léonard. With his associates arrested and facing grave charges, Lupin narrowly escapes the police dragnet. However, the true enigma isn't the failed heist but the seemingly insignificant crystal stopper that was the target, its mysterious value becoming the lynchpin of a far larger conspiracy. Lupin soon finds himself entangled in a dangerous web woven by Daubrecq, a powerful deputy with a sinister past, and Prasville, a high-ranking police official driven by a personal vendetta against Daubrecq. As Lupin races against time to unravel the stopper's secret and protect his captured friends, he must navigate political intrigue, criminal machinations, and constant betrayal, employing his legendary wit, disguises, and strategic genius to expose the truth and ensure justice, even if it's his own unique brand.
