Synopsis

In the quiet, wooded expanses of upstate New York, two widowers, Abe and Dan, find solace in their shared love for fishing and a mutual understanding of profound loss. Their routine is disrupted by hushed rumors surrounding Dutchman's Creek, a secluded waterway flowing from the Ashokan Reservoir, whispered to hold a promise far grander—and far more terrifying—than any fish story. Dismissing the tales as local folklore, the friends are nonetheless drawn into the creek's mysterious allure, hoping to find an elusive 'remedy' for their grief. What they uncover, however, is an ancient narrative interwoven with dark pacts, forgotten histories, and the chilling legend of Der Fisher, a spectral entity whose influence stretches across time. As Abe and Dan delve deeper, they are forced to confront not only the depths of their own sorrow but also the unimaginable price exacted for seeking to reclaim what has been lost, pulling them into a cosmic horror beyond their darkest imaginings.
