Synopsis

In the vibrant yet tense Washington D.C. of 1959, Mary van der Linden, wife to a British diplomat, finds her life of embassy parties, jazz, and martinis increasingly hollow. With her husband Charlie absorbed by his work and her children at boarding school, a sense of listlessness pervades her existence. This changes dramatically with the arrival of Frank Renzo, a charismatic American news reporter. Their initial encounters quickly ignite into a torrid and passionate affair, pulling Mary into a world of intense emotion and moral complexity. As their illicit love deepens, Mary is forced to confront an impossible decision, one that threatens to unravel her carefully constructed life and expose her most intimate secrets. Spanning the evocative settings of Washington, New York, and Moscow, "On Green Dolphin Street" is a masterful exploration of love, betrayal, and personal sacrifice set against the tumultuous backdrop of Cold War chaos and international intrigue.
