Synopsis

Hannah Wells, a sharp and focused student at Briar University, has a significant crush on a guy who barely knows she exists. Her social life is practically non-existent, preferring books to parties. Garrett Graham, the star captain of the university's hockey team, is facing a major problem that could jeopardize his entire career: he's failing a class and desperately needs a tutor to stay on the team. Their paths collide when Garrett proposes an unlikely deal: Hannah tutors him to save his GPA, and in return, he'll fake-date her to ignite jealousy in her crush. What starts as a strictly business arrangement, riddled with witty banter and undeniable tension, slowly morphs into something far more complicated and genuine. As they spend more time together, peeling back layers of each other's carefully constructed facades, Hannah discovers there's more to Garrett than just a charming jock, and Garrett sees beyond Hannah's studious exterior to the vibrant, passionate woman underneath. "The Deal" explores themes of friendship, self-discovery, and the exhilarating, often messy, journey of falling in love when you least expect it, all set against the backdrop of college life.
