Synopsis

In "Frostbite," the second installment of the Vampire Academy series, Rose Hathaway faces a perilous winter break filled with both personal turmoil and supernatural threats. Her complex love life is a tangled mess: she's struggling with her forbidden attraction to her mentor, Dimitri Belikov, who seems to have eyes for someone else, while her friend Mason has a crush on her. Adding to the chaos, Rose frequently finds herself psychically connected to her best friend Lissa's mind, often during Lissa's romantic moments with Christian. The academy's peace is shattered by a major Strigoi attack, leading to heightened security and the arrival of legendary Guardians, including Rose's formidable and long-absent mother, Janine Hathaway. A mandatory ski trip to a luxurious Idaho resort is meant to provide safety, but the illusion quickly fades when three students break ranks to confront the Strigoi themselves. Rose must reluctantly join forces with Christian to rescue them, plunging her into a deadly mission where the lines between love, jealousy, and survival blur, putting both her life and her heart in unprecedented danger.
