This Scepter'd Isle

Denoriel Siencyn Macreth Silverhair, a fierce warrior and rider of the Wild Hunt, is unexpectedly summoned by the enigmatic FarSeers. Through their crystal lens, he witnesses two starkly contrasting futures for England. One depicts a radiant golden age, marked by a flourishing of art, music, letters, and brave exploration, all contingent on the survival and rule of a powerful, red-haired infant: Elizabeth I. The other vision is a grim dystopia, where the land is blighted by the oppressive hand of the Spanish Inquisition, with scores burned and intellectual light extinguished. Denoriel, despite his warrior's nature, is tasked with the seemingly mundane, yet crucial, mission of becoming the infant princess's protector in the mortal world. He must ensure her survival and ascension to the throne, for she is the key to preventing a catastrophic dark age and securing England's bright destiny.
