Rosemary's Baby

Synopsis

Rosemary Woodhouse, a young, optimistic newlywed, moves with her aspiring actor husband, Guy, into a historic New York City apartment building with a dark past. Their new neighbors, the eccentric and overly friendly Castevets, quickly insinuate themselves into their lives, showering them with gifts and attention. When Rosemary becomes pregnant, she begins to suspect that her neighbors, and even Guy, are part of a sinister plot against her unborn child. Her pregnancy becomes a waking nightmare of paranoia, isolation, and chilling realizations, as she battles against an unseen, malevolent force seemingly determined to claim her baby for their own diabolical purposes. The novel masterfully builds suspense, blurring the lines between reality and delusion, leaving Rosemary (and the reader) to question if she's losing her mind or if she's truly trapped in a horrifying conspiracy involving witchcraft and Satanism. The climax reveals a shocking truth that solidified the book's place in horror literature.
