In the Lives of Puppets

Nestled in a tree-house, human Victor lives an unconventional life with three robots: the delightfully sadistic nurse machine Rambo, the attention-seeking vacuum Useless, and his father figure, the inventor-android Giovanni Lawson. Their idyllic existence is shattered when Vic salvages an unfamiliar android named HAP, whose activation inadvertently reveals Gio's hidden location. It soon becomes clear that HAP and Gio share a dark past, having once hunted humans. Before long, robots from Gio's former life arrive to reclaim him, intent on returning him to the formidable City of Electric Dreams for decommissioning or reprogramming. Now, Vic, Rambo, and Useless must embark on a perilous journey across a strange and unforgiving land to rescue their beloved patriarch. Along the way, Vic grapples with burgeoning feelings for HAP, understanding that love, much like a puppet's strings, can be both a connection and a constraint in this heartfelt, queer reimagining of Pinocchio, exploring themes of family, identity, and humanity.
