Synopsis

Joe Tournier exists as a British slave within a French-dominated 19th-century Europe, his life defined by mundane existence, a wife, and a child. Yet, his reality is shattered by fragmented memories of a different world—one where England speaks English, not French. The catalyst for this unraveling is a postcard, delivered ninety-one years late, depicting a lighthouse on Eilean Mor, an Outer Hebridean island Joe has never seen. Penned by a stranger nearly a century ago, the postcard speaks to him with an uncanny familiarity, hinting at a forgotten past. Joe's desperate quest for truth takes him from the oppressive streets of French-occupied London to the remote Scottish wilds, and ultimately, on a perilous journey through time itself. He must battle not only for his own existence but for the very fabric of a future that has been stolen, piecing together a history that shouldn't be, and confronting the profound implications of altered timelines and forgotten identities.
