Synopsis

In the vibrant, West African-inspired land of Orïsha, Zélie remembers a time when magic hummed through the soil, and diverse clans wielded elemental powers. But a ruthless king's decree shattered this harmony, leading to a brutal purge of all magic users, including Zélie's own mother. Now, the maji are oppressed, their powers stolen, and hope is a distant memory. Zélie, however, discovers a glimmer of possibility: a chance to restore magic and strike back against the monarchy that decimated her people. Aided by a rogue princess, she embarks on a perilous quest to reawaken her own dormant powers and unite a fractured nation. Hot on their heels is the relentless crown prince, determined to eradicate magic forever. As Zélie navigates a world filled with dangerous creatures and vengeful spirits, she must also confront the burgeoning strength of her magic and the confusing feelings she develops for an unexpected enemy, all while fighting for the very soul of Orïsha.
