Synopsis

In Jane Yolen's acclaimed epic fantasy, "White Jenna," we follow the journey of Jenna, a young woman raised in the rugged Dales and trained in combat by the all-female devotees of the goddess Great Alta. Reluctantly, Jenna begins to accept her destiny as the prophesied Anna, a warrior queen destined to save her land. Orphaned repeatedly in her youth, the teenage Jenna is compelled to join forces with the Dales' rightful king and the enigmatic Carum, the man who has captured her heart, against the tyrannical reign of the usurper Lord Kalas. As darkness falls, Jenna is joined by her fierce dark twin, Skada, along with a young priestess and an aging warrior. Together, they confront the encroaching malevolence that threatens to destroy their world and everything they hold dear. A tale interwoven with rich myths and poetry, "White Jenna" explores themes of duty, destiny, peril, and the enduring power of lore, questioning if even their combined strength can defeat such entrenched evil.
