Synopsis

In the quiet autumn-kissed town of Green Town, Illinois, two thirteen-year-old best friends, Will Halloway and Jim Nightshade, witness the unsettling arrival of Cooger & Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show. What begins as a thrilling carnival quickly unveils its sinister truth: it is a malevolent entity, run by the terrifying Mr. Dark and his enigmatic partner Mr. Cooger, that preys on the unfulfilled desires and deepest regrets of the town's inhabitants. Offering twisted wishes of youth and beauty, the carnival traps souls, twisting them into grotesque parodies of their former selves. As Will and Jim uncover the dark magic at play, aided by Will's melancholic father, Charles Halloway, they must confront their own fears, the alluring promises of evil, and the chilling reality that the carnival's greatest trick is to steal time and innocence. A profound exploration of good versus evil, aging, and the redemptive power of joy and courage, the boys and Charles embark on a desperate fight to save their town and their very souls from the carnival's seductive, destructive grip.
