Synopsis

In the gripping installment, "20th Victim," SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer finds herself at the heart of a chilling and meticulously planned crime spree that strikes simultaneously across three major American cities: Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco. Each murder is precise, each victim seemingly unconnected, yet Boxer quickly uncovers a disturbing pattern. The victims, it turns out, are all deeply entrenched in lucrative, albeit illicit, criminal activities. As the body count rises and the killers' motives remain shrouded in mystery, the nation is gripped by a polarizing debate: are these anonymous executioners villains or vigilantes? The escalating fear and morbid fascination surrounding the spree challenge Lindsay and her Women's Murder Club colleagues to unmask the masterminds before they claim their next target, all while grappling with the public's complex reaction to the audacious killings.

Critical Reception

"Praised for its relentless pace, compelling characters, and shocking twists, '20th Victim' solidifies James Patterson's status as a master of the high-octane thriller."
