Synopsis

In Margery Allingham's 'Mystery Mile,' the enigmatic Albert Campion finds himself embroiled in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he rescues Judge Crowdy Lobbett from an assassination attempt while sailing home. The Judge, targeted by the notorious American Simister gang, is a man whose life is perpetually under threat. Seeking a refuge and a strategic advantage, Campion orchestrates the relocation of Lobbett, his son Marlowe, and beautiful daughter Isopel, to the remote and seemingly tranquil English estate known as Mystery Mile. His daring plan is to draw the elusive gang leader into the open, turning the tables on the hunters. However, the secluded manor proves to be far from safe. The sinister reach of the Simister gang extends across the Atlantic, and soon, disappearances and escalating dangers plague the isolated household. As the lines between friend and foe blur, Campion must race against time to uncover the true identity of their unseen enemy before more lives are lost and Mystery Mile becomes a graveyard of secrets.
