Forensic anthropologist Dr. David Hunter finds himself once again drawn into a chilling investigation when he's called to a remote, derelict hospital on the isolated Scottish island of Rona. A mummified corpse, seemingly belonging to a former patient, is discovered hidden in a sealed room. Initial forensic analysis, however, suggests a far more recent and sinister death than first assumed. As a ferocious storm descends, cutting off the island from the mainland and trapping Hunter with a small, distrustful community, a second, more brutally murdered body is found. Hunter quickly realizes a ruthless killer is operating among them, seemingly re-enacting grotesque medical procedures from the asylum's dark past. Isolated and in grave danger, Hunter must race against time to uncover the truth, exposing the island's buried secrets before the storm claims more lives and the killer's macabre work is complete.
