Synopsis

In Kathy Reichs' "Spider Bones," forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan is confronted with a perplexing case that shatters conventional understanding. Called to examine a recently deceased man, Tempe is shocked to discover that his identity matches that of an ex-soldier reportedly killed in Vietnam in 1968. This impossible discovery propels her into a high-stakes investigation, delving deep into the clandestine world of the American military. As she meticulously examines the remains of other individuals connected to the mysterious drowned man, Tempe unearths a tangled web of secrets, betrayals, and cover-ups stretching back decades. With each forensic revelation, she inches closer to a truth that some powerful figures would prefer to keep buried. Brennan must navigate a labyrinth of military protocols and hidden agendas to uncover who the man truly was, who he became, and why his past refuses to stay interred, even at the cost of his present life.
