Synopsis

Lara Jean Song Covey, a high school junior, has a secret box filled with love letters – five in total – each addressed to a boy she once loved. These letters are her way of saying goodbye to her crushes, never meant to be seen by anyone but herself. Her world is turned upside down, however, when these highly personal letters are mysteriously mailed out to their intended recipients. Suddenly, her past crushes, including Peter Kavinsky, the most popular boy in school, and Josh Sanderson, her older sister Margot's ex-boyfriend, are confronted with her deepest, most embarrassing feelings. To navigate the awkward aftermath and avoid confronting Josh, Lara Jean orchestrates a fake relationship with Peter Kavinsky. What begins as a convenient charade soon becomes complicated as their pretend romance blurs the lines between fiction and reality, forcing Lara Jean to confront her true feelings about love, family, and growing up. This charming and heartfelt story explores the trials and tribulations of first love, sisterhood, and finding your voice amidst the chaos of high school.
