Synopsis

Suddenly thrust from a life of quiet exile, Maia, the youngest and half-goblin son of the Emperor, finds himself unexpectedly crowned the Goblin Emperor after his father and elder brothers are killed in a suspicious 'accident.' Untrained in the treacherous arts of court politics and entirely friendless, Maia must navigate a world rife with sycophants, ancient grudges, and the constant threat of assassination from the very conspirators who elevated him to the throne. Overwhelmed by his new responsibilities and the daunting task of ruling an empire that views him with suspicion and prejudice, Maia strives to govern with fairness and integrity, despite his isolation. He must quickly learn to discern allies from enemies, find his voice amidst the whispering corridors of power, and uncover the truth behind his family's demise, all while yearning for genuine connection and the possibility of love in a court where every gesture is scrutinized and every relationship is a potential trap.
