Synopsis

In Lisa Kleypas's "Married by Morning," the witty and sharp-tongued Catherine Marks finds herself in a delightful, if challenging, position as a paid companion to the Hathaway sisters. Her greatest test, however, comes in the form of their older brother, Leo Hathaway, a man whose exasperating charm constantly clashes with her own formidable intellect. Their incessant bickering thinly veils a potent mutual attraction, which erupts in a surprising, powerful kiss that leaves Cat reeling. When Leo, under pressure to marry and secure an heir to save his family estate, proposes a dangerous liaison, Cat is torn. She harbors a deeply guarded secret from her past that, if revealed, could utterly destroy her life and reputation. Leo, equally burdened by past grief and resolved never to love again, finds Cat's mysterious allure irresistible. As the danger Cat has long tried to outrun threatens to tear them apart, these two wary hearts must decide if they can banish the shadows and surrender to a love that defies all expectations.
