Synopsis

When a six-legged, two-armed alien named Hollus lands a shuttle outside Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum and demands to speak with a paleontologist, humanity is thrust into a profound interspecies debate on the existence of God. Hollus reveals that its species, along with another alien race aboard its mother ship, shares a startling cosmic history with Earth: all three planets have experienced the same five catastrophic events at precisely the same cosmological times – events like the asteroid impact that wiped out Earth's dinosaurs. For the aliens, this synchronicity is undeniable proof of a divine hand orchestrating life's evolution across the universe. As paleontologist Tom Jericho grapples with this revolutionary concept, the evidence challenges deeply held beliefs and raises more questions than answers about the nature of God. The philosophical inquiry intensifies dramatically when a nearby supernova threatens to annihilate all three homeworlds, forcing everyone to confront the ultimate question: will God intervene, or is this the sixth, and final, cataclysm?
