Synopsis

In a world sharply divided by blood, where commoner Reds serve the superpowered Silver elite, seventeen-year-old Mare Barrow scrapes by as a thief in the impoverished Stilts. Her only foreseeable future is conscription into the Silvers' endless war, a fate that has already claimed her brothers and best friend. However, a chance encounter leads her to the Silver Palace, where she shockingly discovers she possesses a deadly, un-Silver power of her own. To conceal this anomaly and maintain control, the Silvers declare her a long-lost Silver princess, betrothing her to Prince Maven Calore, the future king's brother. Trapped in a gilded cage and surrounded by her oppressors, Mare secretly allies with the Red Guard, a militant resistance, using her unique position to aid their desperate fight to dismantle the Silver regime. As she navigates a treacherous landscape of political intrigue, forbidden romance, and escalating rebellion, Mare is thrust into a dangerous dance of betrayal, forced to choose between loyalty and love, prince against prince, and ultimately, head against heart, in a world teetering on the brink of ultimate bloodshed.
