Synopsis

In a chilling turn of events, two Supreme Court Justices are assassinated, their deaths shrouded in mystery. The nation is gripped by uncertainty, but for brilliant Tulane law student Darby Shaw, the answers begin to coalesce in a speculative legal brief. For her own academic exercise, Darby meticulously crafts a theory proposing a motive and perpetrator linked to a vast, high-stakes presidential conspiracy. When her professor shares this "Pelican Brief" with an FBI contact, the consequences are immediate and deadly. Her mentor is killed in a car bombing, plunging Darby into a nightmare where her academic musings have become a terrifying reality. Suddenly, Darby is the sole possessor of a truth so dangerous that powerful, shadowy figures are relentlessly hunting her to silence her permanently. With her life hanging by a thread, she must rely on her sharp intellect and an unlikely alliance with a determined investigative journalist, Gray Grantham, to expose the conspiracy before she becomes its next victim. The race for survival intertwines with a desperate quest for justice, pushing them deep into the heart of a corrupt political web.
