Synopsis

In the desolate town of Eden, Kentucky, Opal, a cynical high school dropout, struggles to carve out a better life for herself and her younger brother, Jasper. Their only escape seems to be from Eden itself, a place known primarily for bad luck and the enigmatic E. Starling, a 19th-century author who vanished, leaving behind only dark rumors and her unsettling, gothic mansion. Obsessed with Starling's work, 'The Underland,' since childhood, Opal finds herself drawn to the forbidden Starling House. When an opportunity arises to work inside the mansion, she takes it, hoping to earn money for their escape fund. However, the house holds more than just secrets; it harbors sinister forces and a misanthropic heir, Arthur, whose nightmares are becoming terrifyingly real. As Eden succumbs to its own ghostly past, Opal uncovers a deep-seated mystery that might just give her a reason to stay and fight for the haunted home and its troubled inhabitant. She must confront the darkness threatening them all, blurring the lines between dreams and reality, and discover if Starling House is a curse or a home.
