Synopsis

In a famine-ravaged 1345 China, under the oppressive thumb of Mongol rule, two children from a humble village are dealt vastly different fates: the boy, Zhu Chongba, is destined for greatness, while his intelligent sister is condemned to nothingness. When a bandit attack leaves them orphaned and Zhu Chongba succumbs to despair and dies, his sister seizes a desperate chance for survival. Assuming her deceased brother's identity, she enters a monastery as a young male novice. Driven by an unyielding will to live, she discovers a ruthless determination within herself, willing to commit any act, no matter how morally ambiguous, to escape her fated demise. As the monastery is embroiled in the burgeoning rebellion against the Mongols, she recognizes an unprecedented opportunity to shed her imposed 'nothingness' and claim the abandoned greatness meant for her brother, embarking on a transformative journey that reimagines the rise of the Ming Dynasty's founding emperor through her fierce ambition and a challenge to destiny itself.
